Drawing inspiration from The Beatles, David Bowie, ELO and Elvis Costello, Zach formed The Secret Seven around his melodic songs of lost love, faded summers and Cape Cod nostalgia.

The band’s debut album, Turn Your Back to the Sea, was nominated for Best Rock Album at the San Diego Music Awards. After relocating from San Diego to Los Angeles, The Secret Seven followed it with How to Imitate Thunder, expanding the band’s acoustic foundations with layered guitars, vintage keyboards and a more ambitious, eclectic sound.

The album features guitarist Oliver Fiedler, vocalist Shani Ayanna and songs including “The Deep,” “Santa Monica,” “Summer Streets,” “Note to Self” and the Bowie-influenced “Distant Transmission.”

Across its two albums, The Secret Seven gave Zach a home for the more melodic and cinematic side of his songwriting—a catalog shaped by classic pop craftsmanship, indie rock and the music he grew up loving.
